Today, Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo welcomed Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal to Washington, D.C. to discuss Ukraine’s plans for reconstruction and ways in which the Department of Commerce and U.S. private sector can support. The Secretary reiterated her strong support for Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression and her commitment to Ukraine’s reconstruction. In addition, The Secretary and Prime Minister discussed the Commerce Department’s implementation of export controls on Russia. She also stated that she looks forward to discussing longer-range plans at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s April 13 U.S.-Ukraine Partnership Forum, where the Secretary and Prime Minister will participate.
