MANILA, Philippines – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo met with Philippine President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. Secretary Raimondo thanked President Marcos for welcoming her and the delegation of 22 U.S. companies participating in the Presidential Trade and Investment Mission to the Philippines. The two also discussed U.S.-Philippines cooperation and joint efforts to strengthen commercial relationships and to build resilient supply chains across the Indo-Pacific, including through the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF). The Secretary thanked President Marcos for the Government of the Philippines’ continued support as IPEF member countries work to operationalize the Framework and its landmark economic cooperation initiatives to strengthen supply chains, combat climate change, and deliver meaningful benefits to IPEF member countries’ workers and businesses.
