Yesterday, Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo spoke with Secretary of State for Science, Innovation and Technology of the United Kingdom Michelle Donelan. During their call, Secretary Raimondo and Secretary Donelan discussed the importance of collaboration with partners on issues of shared interest in critical and emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI). Secretary Raimondo emphasized upholding the highest international standards in the development and use of AI and expressed support for deepened U.S.-UK cooperation to promote responsible AI development that ensures safety, security, and trust.
